Jakarta, Indonesia (28/01/2026) – Wilson Lalengke, a prominent Indonesian journalist and international human rights advocate, has formally expressed his high regard and appreciation for the Republic of Senegal following its reiterated commitment to the territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Morocco.

The endorsement comes in the wake of the Morocco-Senegal High Joint Partnership Commission held in Rabat, where Senegalese Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko reaffirmed that the Moroccan Autonomy Plan is the “only credible, serious, and realistic solution” to the regional dispute over the Sahara.

A Model for Global Diplomacy

Wilson Lalengke, who also serves as the President of the Indonesian Citizen Journalists Association (Persatuan Pewarta Warga Indonesia – PPWI), praised the diplomatic synergy between the two African nations as a beacon of stability.

“I highly appreciate Senegal for its unwavering commitment and courageous stance. Their support for Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara is not merely a matter of foreign policy; it is a profound recognition of historical reality and legitimate international law,” stated Lalengke, Wednesday (28/01/2026)

Lalengke emphasized that Senegal’s position aligns with the UN Security Council’s latest resolutions, specifically Resolution 2797, which enshrines the autonomy plan as the definitive basis for a political solution. He noted that such steadfastness from a major African power like Senegal helps pave the way for sustainable peace and regional prosperity.

Humanitarian and Ethical Dimensions

From a humanitarian perspective, Lalengke argued that ending the stalemate through the Autonomy Plan is the most ethical path forward. “The agreement between these two countries must be supported by all who love peace. Senegal has demonstrated that they are a principled partner, prioritizing a peaceful and stable future over unproductive and prolonged disputes,” he added.

Lalengke’s advocacy often emphasizes that global justice must be rooted in sound logic and clear philosophical understanding. By backing Morocco’s territorial integrity, Senegal is practicing a form of “Diplomatic Realism” that protects the rights and dignity of the populations involved within a stable state framework.

The collaboration between Rabat and Dakar is viewed by Lalengke as an ideal model for South-South cooperation. He believes that when developing nations stand together on the basis of mutual respect for sovereignty, they create a stronger front against external interference and foster an environment where economic and social development can flourish.
