UHA HR Gathering #2 Strengthens Hospitality Industry and Government Collaboration

Around 70 hotel HR professionals in Ubud joined the “HR Meets Government” forum to gain the latest insights into employment regulations, licensing services, worker protection, and industry-government collaboration.

UBUD, BALI — The Ubud Hotels Association (UHA) continued its commitment to strengthening the capacity of Human Resources (HR) professionals in the hospitality industry through its second HR Gathering of 2026.

Carrying the theme “HR Meets Government,” the gathering brought together hotel HR professionals and representatives from government institutions to discuss the latest developments in employment regulations, industrial relations, licensing services, and worker protection.

The event was attended by around 70 HR professionals representing UHA member hotels in Ubud. Beyond serving as a knowledge-sharing platform, the gathering also provided an opportunity to strengthen communication and cooperation between the hospitality industry and government stakeholders.

The event was attended by Chairman of PHRI Gianyar, Gede Paskara Karilo, who expressed his support for UHA’s efforts to strengthen collaboration between the hospitality sector and the government.

UHA Chairman Putu Surya Arysoma also actively accompanied the entire program, demonstrating the association’s commitment to supporting HR professionals and strengthening the hospitality community in Ubud.

One of the founders of Ubud HR, Dewi Aprilianti, said the “HR Meets Government” theme was chosen because HR professionals need to stay updated on government regulations and policies that directly affect business operations and employment practices.

“HR is a very crucial position in a company. Therefore, it is important for us to receive updated information directly from the government, particularly regarding policies related to employment and company operations,” said Dewi Aprilianti.

Dewi also reflected on the journey of the Ubud HR community, which was established in 2016 together with Gede Suherman and Dewi Rusmayanti.

After a decade, Ubud HR continues to remain active and consistently organizes programs designed to provide value and professional development opportunities for its members.

“Just a little flashback, Ubud HR was established in 2016 together with Mr. Herman and Ms. Dewi Rusmayanti. Until today, it remains active and continues to organize programs every year that are beneficial to our members,” she added.

For the second HR Gathering, UHA invited speakers from several government-related institutions. They included Meirita, S.IP., M.Si., Head of Industrial Relations Development and Employment Supervision at the Bali Provincial Manpower and Energy and Mineral Resources Agency; Ngurah Subagia, representing the Bali Provincial One-Stop Integrated Services and Investment Office (PTSP); and Anak Agung Ngurah Gede Ardhiyan Bayu Septa, representing BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Gianyar.

The presence of the speakers provided participants with direct access to information concerning employment policies, industrial relations, labor supervision, licensing services, as well as worker protection and welfare.

The gathering was not limited to educational sessions and knowledge sharing. UHA also organized a team-building session led by psychologist Ayun.

Through a series of interactive activities, the session was designed to improve communication, strengthen professional relationships, and build a stronger sense of solidarity among HR professionals from hotels across Ubud.

The HR Gathering reflects UHA’s broader commitment to developing professionalism within the hospitality sector. By bringing together industry representatives, government officials, and HR professionals in one forum, the association aims to create stronger communication and collaboration across stakeholders.

The event also received support from The Medical, which contributed to UHA’s efforts to develop a healthier, more productive, and sustainable working environment within the hospitality community.

Through HR Gathering #2 “HR Meets Government,” UHA reaffirmed its role as a collaborative platform for the hospitality industry in Ubud. The association continues to provide a space where HR professionals can learn, exchange knowledge, build professional networks, and strengthen solidarity for the sustainable development of the hospitality industry.
